The Story Behind The Storyteller
BRANDON WORDEN, CATSKILLS-BASED FILM EDITOR, COLORIST & PHOTOGRAPHER
In 2015, my sister Brianna, a three-time cancer survivor and advocate for people with disabilities, was recognized for her courage and advocacy surrounding Neurofibromatosis (NF). The greatest honor, however, wasn’t the award, but the opportunity to have her story told. A small team of filmmakers spent a week documenting her life, giving others an intimate look at her journey. Watching her story unfold on the big screen showed me the power of giving someone the chance to truly be seen, and inspired me to pursue storytelling myself.
For the past decade, I’ve worked as an editor and colorist, creating everything from music videos to award-winning films. But after years of working behind the scenes, moving back to my home in the Catskills led me to find a deep passion for photography. What began with picking up my camera on a whim became a new way of seeing the world.
Filmmaking taught me how to shape a story. Photography taught me how to recognize one as it unfolds. Whether I’m working with a couple, simply capturing your story, or helping bring a film to life, I approach every project with the same belief: every person has a story worth telling. Through film and photography, my goal is to find the heart of every story and craft it into something that connects and stays with you long after we’ve worked together. One story changed the course of my life. Now, my goal is to tell stories that have the power to change someone else’s.
More Than Just A Collaborator
I've always been drawn to stories that feel lived-in. Stories that reflect real experiences, evoke genuine emotions, and stick with you long after the credits roll. Between helping bring a film to life and documenting a couple's love story, I believe the most meaningful work comes from capturing something honest and deeply human. My passion lies in creating films that people can see themselves in, telling stories that resonate and remind us of the connections we share. For photography, what matters most to me is that you truly feel confident and seen.
To me, collaboration is about more than simply delivering a finished product. It's about sharing memories of something we've made together. When you choose to work with me, you're choosing a friend. Someone who takes the time to understand your vision and what matters most to you. Whether I'm making movies alongside friends and fellow creatives or documenting one of the most important days of your life, my goal is for you to feel confident knowing that your story was valued and that what we're creating is done with genuine care and intention.
